Harvest Moon Fest and Patriotic Concert

The Franklin Patriotic Concert, held in conjunction with the Harvest Moon Fest in late October-early November, brings the experience of the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra to an outdoor performance free to the public.

The concert honors those who served in the United States Armed Forces, as well as police and fire personnel. There are also pop and showtune numbers during the performance. Vocalist Nancy Tabb Marcantel also is a feature of the event, held along Bayou Teche behind the St. Mary Parish Courthouse.

The Harvest Moon Fest is a Saturday which recognizes not only the spirit of an area and a culture which has always reaped the rewards of productive farmland and bountiful natural resources. It is sponsored by the City and the downtown merchants as a showcase for the Main Street businesses which continue to give Franklin excellent services.

Activities for the day include free trolley rides, musical performances by local talent, puppet and marionette shows and a children's carnival. There are also dominoes and checkers contests, a teen challenge, bass fishing tournament by the Louisiana Bass Anglers, and much, much more.

The Teche Action Clinic 5k Run/Walk is always a favorite event.

Mardi Gras in Franklin is a grande time for all!
